Primary Program

At South Lake Montessori School, our Primary Program is designed for children ages 2 1/2–6, offering both full-day and half-day options to meet the needs of families. Our program provides a nurturing, hands-on environment where children develop independence, curiosity, and foundational academic and life skills through authentic Montessori methods.

Program Hours:

  • Full Day: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Half Day: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Daily Schedule (Full Day Example)

  • 8:00 – 11:00 AM: 3-Period Work Cycle
    • Practical Life: Activities that build independence, coordination, and responsibility
    • Sensorial: Exercises to refine the senses and develop cognitive skills
    • Math & Language: Hands-on lessons to introduce core academic concepts
    • Cultural Awareness: Art, music, science, and geography integrated into daily experiences; living plants, animals, and hands-on materials enrich observation and discovery
    • Social & Emotional Growth: Children learn responsibility, respect, cooperation, and care for the environment
    • Physical Activity: Free movement in the classroom and outdoor play develop large and small motor skills
  • 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Lunch & Social Time
  • 12:30 – 1:30 PM: Clean-Up & Transition Activities
  • 1:30 – 2:30 PM: Outdoor Play & Exploration
